Exam - Vaarbewijs II - Robert Long

Because of visiting family in The Netherlands -and having an exam on Saturday- publication of this week's blog page is postponed till coming Monday, the 4th of April 2016.

Although admittedly nervous beforehand, the exam was passed – and even better (84,0 % score) than the first one on the 20th of February (82,5 % score).

This is the anxiously desired document, named ‘Klein Vaarbewijs II’ (as opposed to I) which acknowledges the holder’s capability to cruise, beside inland waters, the coastal ones too. Western Scheldt (Westerschelde), IJsselmeer and Wadden Sea (Waddenzee), here we come!

We visited our home country not only for the exam but to renew a driving license and, last but not least, visiting family. This offered us the opportunity to visit a musical after Robert Long’s life and music as well. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Long_(singer) or, more extensive https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Long. The singer is superbly acted and sung by actor, vocalist and writer Paul Groot (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Groot). For reviews of the show see http://entertainmentmv.nl/2016/02/recensie-robert-long-de-musical-2016/. Sorry, only Dutch.

  • The show is based upon a show in the eighties of last century, performed by Robert Long and Leen Jongewaard (right).

  • The present artists here, being Paul Groot and Jeremy Baker (right). We enjoyed it thoroughly and, on a scale from ) to 10, we gave it a 10 – despite of the ‘thin’ story. But the songs!!!

Coming week we hope to be able to tell about our cruising experiences again. The cruising season will start the 7th or 8th of April. At least, that’s the plan. Bye for now.
