Our ship was acquired in December 2010 and registered in the (British) Small Ships Register under number SSR141946. We could do that because at the time we were considered British residents.

The registration expired last January and we were unable to re-register, as we are no longer British residents. So we were forced to register our ship in The Netherlands. So far, so good. But…

…both our ‘International Certificate for Operator of Pleasure Craft’ cannot be renewed coming April for the same reason. Therefore we have to obtain a Dutch...

...‘Vaarbewijs’, as the current registration of our ship demands at least one of us to be able to show this document when asked for. If caught without it the fine is, unbelievably, € 550,00!
Consequently, the time of studying has unexpectedly arrived – at old age. We are sure you’ll understand that there’s not a lot of time to create an extensive blog page. This is it for this week. Bye for now.
