This is a picture of the front of La Halle Tony Garnier in Lyon. Last Thursday, the 25th of February 2014, we have been part of the crowd during a concert here by André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra, choir and soloists.

Waiting for the thing to come...

The orchestra in full swing; special attention to two cello players on the large side screens.

An all female choir supported the orchestra and soloists.

Female soloist singing, among others, 'Oh Mio Babbino Caro' (from Gianni Schicchi, Puccini).

Male soloist singing, among others, 'Libiamo' (from La Traviata, Verdi).

Moving music from Argentina, like the tango, was played with a bandoneon solo-player.

The end of a great performance. We realise that it was more of the same than normal. The concert was great though, and we have visitors at present so there was less time available for research than under the usual circumstances.

On Sunday-morning the 2nd of March 2014, La Loire looked like this. It has been fairly quiet so far this season. A bientôt!
